Brenda has spent most of her career in the cancer field, beginning in
a local hospital’s radiation therapy department, then in 1997 as a hospital cancer registrar.
In November 2001, she accepted a position as Cancer Data Coordinator at Missouri Cancer Registry.
Since then Brenda has been a vital part of the central registry and in 2004 was promoted to Coordinator
of Manual and Low-volume hospitals. One of her main roles is assisting manual hospital’s transition
from paper abstracts to Abstract Plus, a software program made available to state central cancer
registries from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Brenda is also active in
registry organizations such as MoSTRA, KCATRA, NCRA and NAACCR.
