Jeannette Jackson-Thompson is a Research Associate Professor at the University of Missouri-Columbia,
Department of Health Management and Informatics and Operations Director, Missouri Cancer Registry,
Center for Health Care Quality. From 1996 until August 2002, she was Chief, Office of Surveillance,
Research and Evaluation, Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and was involved in drafting
the plan that led to outsourcing surveillance operations (MCR and the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance
System) to MU in 1999. Dr. Jackson-Thompson currently serves on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's
(CDC) National Program of Cancer Registries (NPCR) Scientific Work Group and on the North American
Association of Central Cancer Registries (NAACCR) Certification Committee. She is also a member of NCRA and MoSTRA.
