File Submission Deadlines We will accept NAACCR Version 11.1 files only until JULY 25, 2008. We will begin accepting NAACCR Version 11.2 files on AUGUST 4, 2008. Please hold all 11.2 files for uploading until that date.
Missouri Gets the Gold & 90% NAACCR notified MCR in June that our 2005 data met the standards to be a gold-certified registry. We've had gold-certified data since our 2001 data submission in the year 2004.
For the very first time, we met the requirement to have 90% of the expected number of cases at 12 months. These were the 2006 cases that were submitted to NPCR in January.
We would not have been able to accomplish either of these goals without the diligence and support of the cancer registries and other cancer reporters in Missouri. Thanks to you all!
Updated Registry Plus Online Help There is a new release for 11.2 available on the CDC's website, which includes new features such as the Multiple Primary & Histology Coding rules, as well as an Edits help. Check it out -- it looks like it will be very helpful.
NCRA CTR Workshop/Webinars NCRA will offer a CTR Exam Prep Workshop and a CTR Exam Prep Readiness Webinar Series for the upcoming CTR Exam in September. For more information or to register, click on the links provided or go to our Education page.
Change of Address As of May 23, 2008 our physical address will be changing. The new address for items sent via FedEx, UPS, etc., will be: Missouri Cancer Registry, 401 Clark Hall, Columbia MO 65211. Our current PO Box used for items sent via the US Postal Service will remain the same as will phone(s), fax and email(s).
Web Plus Page Our Web Plus page has changed! We've re-done the Web Plus page to include information and links for all three reporting options (Entering Cases, Follow-Back Requests and Uploading Files) so that users can access Web Plus information from one location. The File Uploading link on the menu, will no longer direct users to a separate File Uploading page, but will go directly to the Web Plus page where all Web Plus information will now be located.
Thank You We would like to thank both the American Cancer Society for sponsoring the NAACCR 2007-2008 Webinars as well as the hosting hospitals (to be announced at a later date) for making these possible! The 2007-2008 NAACCR Hospital Webinar Schedule is now available on our Education/Training page.
Computer-Based Training (temporarily unavailable) MCR now offers several computer-based training modules designed for cancer reporters who are not certified tumor registrars. The modules cover a variety of topics including information about the Missouri Cancer Registry, cases finding for low-volume hospitals, as well as modules for physician offices about using Web Plus, the internet-based reporting program. The user first must register to obtain an account to access the training modules and it may take a day or two to receive the registration information (user ID and password). Once the user receives that via e-mail, however, the site may readily be accessed at the user’s convenience, any time of night or day. In addition, users may take a quiz after each module and based on the score, will receive a certificate of completion. The modules are available on our Education/Training page as well as http://dcomplx.umh.edu/.
